Floor Spring Door Closers

Floor spring door closers are mounted in the floor beneath the door. This type of door closer is often used on heavy-duty doors, such as glass doors or aluminum storefront doors, and is commonly seen in commercial or public buildings. We offer these types of door closers from proven suppliers such as Dorma,  Geze and Briton.

They are generally more difficult to install than other types of door closers, but offer the advantage of being hidden from view, which can be an important consideration in some applications.

Floor spring door closers operate using a hydraulic mechanism that is housed in a metal casing. The casing is mounted in a recess in the floor and the closer is attached to the door using a metal plate. When the door is opened, the hydraulic mechanism compresses, storing energy that will be used to close the door.

Floor spring door closers can be either single action or double action, depending on the application and the type of door.  Single action allows operation in only one direction, and double action allows operation in both directions.

It's important to select the correct type of door closer for the specific door and application to ensure that it functions correctly and meets any relevant building codes or regulations.
