Nightlatches

Nightlatches are typically mounted on the inside surface of a door. They are designed to automatically latch shut when the door is closed and can be opened from the inside by turning a knob or lever.

Nightlatches are commonly used as an additional locking mechanism, alongside a deadbolt or mortice lock, to provide increased security for a property. They are often found on residential doors, such as front and back doors.
