Rim Deadlock

A rim deadlock is a type of lock that is similar to a rim lock in that it is mounted on the surface of a door, but it provides a higher level of security.

A rim deadlock consists of a lock body that is mounted on the inside surface of the door and a bolt that extends from the lock body and engages with a strike plate on the door frame. The bolt is operated by a key from either the  inside  or the outside of the door.

The main difference between a rim deadlock and a rim lock is that a rim deadlock has a solid metal bolt that extends further into the strike plate, making it more resistant to forced entry. Rim deadlocks are commonly used on wooden doors, such as those found on residential properties, and can provide an additional layer of security in conjunction with other types of locks.

It's important to note that, like other types of locks, a rim deadlock is not completely invulnerable to forced entry and should be used in conjunction with other security measures, such as sturdy door frames and secure windows. Additionally, it's important to ensure that the rim deadlock is installed correctly and with high-quality hardware to ensure maximum security.
