Intumescent Strips
Intumescent strips are thin seals that are fixed around the edges of a fire door and door frame. They block the small gaps between the door and frame that can allow fire flames or smoke to seep through. When they are exposed to heat, they expand and seal the gaps more tightly. They usually provide up to 30 or 60 minutes of fire resistance.
