Hookbolts

A mortice hookbolt is a type of door lock that is commonly used on timber doors, particularly in commercial and industrial settings. It is a variant of the mortice lock and is typically installed within a mortice cut into the edge of the door.

It consists of a lock body with a bolt that extends from the lock body and engages with a strike plate on the door frame. The bolt is typically a hooked shape, providing a high level of security by engaging deeply into the door frame.

Mortice hookbolts are often used in conjunction with other types of locks, such as deadbolts or latch bolts, to provide additional security. They are commonly found on fire exit doors and other doors, such as patio doors, that require a high level of security.
