The Dorgard retaining device is suitable for use with all brands of Overhead Door Closers.
It is a battery operated device that "Listens" for a Fire Alarm. If it detects a continuous sound of over 65Decibels for over a period of 14 seconds it releases the fire door, allowing the overhead door closer to close the door, sealing the area from fire and smoke.
As the unit is battery operated it is easily retro-fitted to existing fire alarm systems. It is fitted to the door with 4 screws, and installation takes as little as 5 minutes.
Wedging open fire doors is both illegal and dangerous. The Dorgard provides a simple and cost effective solution.
